Personal data protection
Skeleton. The notices describe the processing actually carried out by the platform, but the document must be reviewed by a lawyer and completed with the company details.
Who processes your data
The company L'autre Instant, publisher of the Guide Louis, contact details to be filled in. For the data of a merchant's customers, the merchant is the data controller and we act as processor.
What we keep, and for how long
- Email address and mobile number
- Kept in clear text for as long as needed to send the invitation and receive the review, then deleted automatically. Only an irreversible fingerprint remains — it does not allow the address to be recovered, but it does allow a deletion request received years later to be honoured.
- Displayed name
- In shortened form, for example "Jean D.". Anonymised on request.
- Review content and photos
- Kept for as long as the review is published. Location data contained in photos (GPS coordinates, device model) is removed before any publication, automatically and without exception.
- Order reference
- Kept in order to establish the link between the review and a genuine purchase.
Your rights
Access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability. The author of a review can edit or delete it themselves at any time, from the link received by email, without having to write to us.
An erasure request results in the deletion of the photo files, not only of the row in the database : an image showing a person remains personal data even once the name beside it has gone.
Write to rgpd@louis.guide — a reply within one month, as the GDPR requires. You may also refer the matter to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
What we do not do
We sell no data, run no targeted advertising, and build up no profile from the reviews submitted.
